Polyvinyl silicone oil

Polyvinyl‑terminated silicone oil, by controlling the ratio of terminal vinyl groups to side‑chain vinyl groups, allows for flexible tuning of product properties such as hardness, elasticity, and tear strength; it is a key raw material for addition‑cured liquid silicone rubber (LSR) and silicone gels. It can also react with organic materials like polyurethanes and acrylics to produce novel coatings, resins, and emulsions that exhibit excellent weather resistance, UV stability, and toughness. When incorporated into compounded silicone rubbers, polyvinyl‑terminated silicone oil enhances processing performance, crosslink density, and physical‑mechanical properties, including tensile strength and hardness.

III. Features and Applications

By controlling the ratio of terminal to pendant vinyl groups, this silicone oil allows flexible adjustment of the final product's hardness, elasticity, tear strength, and other properties. It serves as the core raw material for addition-curing liquid silicone rubber (LSR) and silicone gels. In addition, it can react with organic materials such as polyurethane and acrylics to produce new coatings, resins, and emulsions with excellent weatherability, UV resistance, and toughness. Adding polyvinyl silicone oil to millable silicone rubber improves its processing performance, cross-linking density, and mechanical properties (e.g. tensile strength and hardness).

IV. Packaging and Storage

  1. Packaging: This product is sealed in a clean and dry inner plastic-coated iron drums or plastic drums.
  2. Transportation: During transportation, exposure to sunlight and rain should be prevented. Transport it as non-hazardous goods.
  3. Storage: Store in a well-ventilated cool and dry place with no contact with harmful substances such as acid and alkali. The shelf life is one year, beyond which, re-test the product according to specifications. It may remain usable if it still meets the requirements.
